Vernon Was Too Scared To Fly
Written by Michael Mendoza
Illustrated by Wisinee Chanwittayapat
Adapted from a poem written for his kids in 1995 (me being one of them), this children's book tells the story of a young bird, Vernon, who must overcome his fear of heights to rescue his mother and sister from Old Whisker, the mangy housecat. Turning my father's poem into a children's book has been a long time dream of ours and I'll never forget how much we enjoyed working on this together.

After abandoning their lives on Earth, one thousand hand-selected passengers and a single outlaw board a starship headed to a new habitable planet. In this complete graphic novel series, follow Alexander Livingston as he, the last zombie at the end of the zombie-apocalypse, fights to 'survive' the world of the living. As told from the zombie's perspective, this tale of adventure presents quite a unique take on the genre.

Publishing Experience
Since long before Chris and I formed Critical Entertainment LLC in 2017, we've been behind the booth, selling our stories at comic conventions across the pacific coast. We've attended panel after panel about writing, editing, and publishing comic books. The network of artists we've worked with and interacted with continues growing as we gain momentum.
Now, Critical Entertainment can be found exhibiting in Long Beach, Anaheim, Seattle, Los Angeles, and the prestigious San Diego comic conventions. We distribute our stories digitally online and physically via orders from our website and at conventions.
We do all of our own writing, editing, graphic design, distribution setup, and retail. Nothing in my professional career has been quite as rewarding as starting my own business and seeing it grow. I look forward to what the future has in store!
